The pathogenesis of COVID-19 is closely related to haemostatic disorders and the development of hypercoagulability. Clinical manifestations are determined by microthrombosis in the pulmonary circulation and other parts of the vascular bed. However, coagulopathy in COVID-19 is different from DIC or sepsis and is being actively studied. Already from the first months of pandemic, it became clear that one of the key methods of treatment for severe infection should be antithrombotic therapy. The presentation will address the mechanisms of haemostasisc disorders in COVID-19, laboratory diagnostic methods, principles of anticoagulation and it’s monitoring. International recommendations for the diagnosis and correction of haemostatic disorders in COVID-19 will be considered.
The webinar is accessible for EFLM Academy members only.
